Doug spent six years working for the Leo Eisenberg Company in Charleston, South Carolina, specializing in retail development and leasing of Wal-Mart anchored shopping centers. In 1993, Doug started a branch office in Charleston for JDN, the largest developer of Wal-Marts in the mid 1990s and one of the largest strip center REITs in the country, with an average of 115 properties in its portfolio. In 1997, Doug formed Henzlik-Oliver Real Estate Companies, LLC, based in Kansas City that specializes in shopping development and tenant representation. Since the formation of Henzlik-Oliver Real Estate Companies, LLC, Doug has owned or had ownership in Wal-Mart Centers, several grocery anchored centers, developed numerous Walgreens & IHOP's and over 1,300,000 square feet of shopping centers developed or repositioned.
